It is possible to renew motor vehicle registrations and licenses locally.  We encourage all residents to do ALL TRANSACTIONS locally, which generates revenues for Franklin County.  This can be accomplished in numerous ways:

     1.  In person at the Malone or Saranac Lake office

     2.  Send someone in with your completed renewal & fee

     3.  Drop box is available at the entrance of each office

     4.  By mail at the above addresses

 DO NOT USE THE ENVELOPE PROVIDED WITH YOUR RENEWAL.  This will expedite the processing of your transaction.  Using the envelope provided by the State for renewals will delay the receipt of your processed documents by 4-6 weeks.
