Franklin County Bicentennial Celebration

Happy Birthday, Franklin County!  The year 2008 marks the 200th anniversary of the founding of Franklin County, New York.  On March 11, 1808, the county of Franklin was formed from Clinton County. 

 

The Franklin County Bicentennial Commission is planning events throughout the year to celebrate the county's Bicentennial.  Visit  www.franklincounty200.com for a full calendar of events. 

 

The Bicentennial Commission consists of the following members:

To participate in the June 14, 2008 Bicentennial parade, please print out this form and send it in (address is on bottom of form) ASAP.   Parade participation is encouraged from all towns and villages in Franklin County.  Floats celebrating the history of your town or the entire county are especially encouraged.   

Each town and village in Franklin County is asked to create an historical display for the June 14, 2008 Bicentennial Celebration at the county fairgrounds.  Town historical societies, Town Historians, local museums and libraries, and town/village boards are asked to collaborate to create an exhibit informing the rest of the county just how rich their history is!
